Designing Colombo Jazz Festivals’ Website

Colombo Jazz Festival celebrates good music, great food, as well as featuring creative minds and musicians! We were approached by them to design a website for the festival; In 2016 we designed the original website for the Jazz and Blues’ festival, but we were able to update it easily using wordpress, making it easier and less time consuming. If you take a look at the website, you can see that the layout is fairly simple, featuring the video we edited and the artists that were performing at the festival. The main aspect of the website is to excite people with the video, the musicians and images from the festival, to make them look forward to next years one!

Last weekend saw the second Colombo Jazz Festival take place at the iconic Galle Face Hotel front lawn. Rather typically for a tropical country the weather was unpredictable and saw heavy rains on Saturday cause some delays to the event. But the show must go on, as they say, so after some serious re-wiring the main acts were able to get up on stage and do their thing. Sunday bought more rain to the party, but this time the crew were more prepared and thus minimised any further delays. Having been involved in the Electric Peacock Festival here in Sri Lanka, and after working for many years with Greenpeace at Glastonbury, I have to say I was impressed by the way the crew kept their cool and were able to pull it back together after what seemed like a disaster. In the end the music and atmosphere were fantastic.
